The Art of Throwing Away Your Stuff
So I’ve been thinking how to best explain to people who ask about my lifestyle on how I fit everything in my little RV. Getting into the minimalist mindset is a bit of an art and I will probably never master it, but I have been working on it for a few years now. I think there are two parts to it: mental and physical. I think you have to really get into the mindset of experiences over belongings and then you have to actually go through the process of ridding yourself of stuff,

A big year in a Tiny House
It has officially been a year since I bought and transformed Ziggy. It has definitely been a learning experience from the purchase to the makeover to moving in and being in it full time. While I didn’t save as much money as I was hoping this year, I did pay off a TON of debt and treat myself to 10 days in Hawaii, so I think overall it was a great year. Instead of paying out half of my monthly pay towards a house I didn’t really even like (loud neighbors sharing my walls, room

Lake Louise
I had the pleasure of staying at the Lake Louise Lodge with my boyfriend’s family this past weekend, and even though the weather was a little rainy, it was still a beautiful trip. In fact, I use to think I didn’t have any business even being out on a trail… because of my size. When most people think about hikers, they imagine svelte people with muscles bounding under their skin. They don’t normally visualize a woman who is 5’7” and at the heaviest she has ever been in her life. Luckily for me, I don’t tend to let other people’s perceptions of me affe

South To Seldovia
It has been really hard to keep up with posting when I have been going 100 mph for what feels like months. Between getting Ziggy done (well done enough for me to live in), moving in, working, and traveling/adventuring, I just haven’t had much down time. So this morning while the world is still waking up (and I listen to my boyfriend nurse his hangover), I will try to write about our trip to Seldovia (very, very quietly). I was able to fly down to the lower 48 to visit family
